SEATTLE FINE-ART BLACK AND WHITE BABY PHOTOGRAPHY – OCTOBER - MOTHER OF THE MONTH –
I have many amazing clients from all over the world who come to me for fine-art black and white baby photography. Lately I have had many families who are originally from China. They fly to Seattle for photography sessions or they moved to Seattle for work. I would like to introduce Sarah and her son Lucas. I love the movement in these images. I often shoot with a slower shutter speed to catch motion and give the photographs some energy and life.
1. Tell me a little bit about yourself, and being the mother to Lucas. What is it like being a professional and a mom. Any words of wisdom you can share to help mothers along the way?
I am from China originally. I have been at Seattle for 3 years and working at Amazon as a software engineer. My lovely son Lucas is 27 months old now. Lucas was a premature baby and stayed in the NICU for 11 days. What makes me gratified is that Lucas is doing very well now and he is a very happy boy with a lot of energy. I am enjoying he process of growing up with Lucas which also makes me become the best myself.
2. Tell me about why you decided to have professional family photographs, and why you trusted me to take these special photos.
Having a professional family photographs is a 2-years birthday gift for Lucas. I would like to catch the best moment and keep this moment as his best memory.
3. Tell me about being a single professional mother and how you take care of yourself and your baby while working full time.
I am a single mother. Lucas' dad and I have a shared schedule with Lucas. Lucas goes to daycare since he was 11 months old. Although Lucas is living in two house, the love both parents have been giving him will never reduced because of the parents' separation. We are targeting how to make Lucas grow up healthy and happy and have a wonderful childhood full of love.
4 Please feel free to include anything else you like that is interesting about you or your parenting philosophy. AKA books you read, or like whatever. I am particularly interested in parenting a boy and how you do it.
Since I have Lucas, I like attending parenting classes and reading books about kids' education.
